John, it is possible that during the restoration the names were worn off due to rust. I have a 1946 "elsie" that doesn't have any name on top of the barrels, but has the nitro proofing stamp and Armor steel and the serial numbers on the barrels water tables. The serial number is FW S1826 so it is one from the later part of 1946 and possibly the barrels didn't get stamped.
