choke modification on a 20 ga field?Archived Message

About a year ago I recieved my Grandfather's 1946 FG 20 ga.I recieved a lot of good info at that time from this group.
In the last year I've got back into shooting,clays mostly.During this period I've concluded that the mod/full choke on the 20 Is't well suited for the use it will recieve,mostly quail and rabbit.Other guns will be used for the clays.
So is it practical to open up the chokes to IC/mod?I understand the can I do it and,SHOULD I do it are entirely different question.I've never understood the odd bias toward full chokes on these guns.
