Bill, Given the chokes on your gun, I'd be a little suspicious of the 26" barrel length being original until it was verified by a Cody letter; however, you can't go wrong for $250 even if the tubes are bobbed a bit. As to stock finish, I am told a concoction referred to as "rose oil" was applied to Smith stocks at the factory; and although I don't know the secret ingredients that went into this stuff, I do know one of those ingredients was flaked shelac. Wish I could be more helpful.
