Thanks for the help with this. I have another question now. I have refinished and pointed up checkering on some other doubles and have even done a little checkering from scratch and it has turned out okay. I'd like to do the same with this LC Smith with the flat checkering but not sure of the process.
What is the process for cleaning up flat top checkering? Is it the same method as regular checkering or repointing? Use a single line cutter and just cut it enough to clean out the lines without pointing up the diamonds? Keep them flat?
