Serial #34310--Pat'd Mar.29,83 July.13,86 Oct.5,86 Barrels carry the same serial #. The only other writing is L.C. Smith on each of the side-lock plates at the lower front (this would be under the chamber area)& a number 2 just rearward of the fore end lock on the bottom of the barrels. The words Pat'd June.1.00 (the year is o?--appears to be 00)is on the under side of the fore end metal that would mate to the underside of the barrels. This gun is very beat up--The stock is held together by a wrap of tin nailed to the stock at the grip--The fore end is cracked & the latch lever area has been filled in with cork & both stock & forend have been painted black. The butt pad is the engraved bakelite with the hunting dog, also painted black. This gun needs firing pins & bushings. I have the other parts it needs. It is not so far gone that it is junk but it does need a lot of work. The damascas barrels are good--need refinished & the bore shined up other wise they are good to go but not with modern shot shells. This gun was given to me by my Wife's Grand Dad & I would like to see it shoot one more time. Thanks for all you can advise me on> Ruben.
