    Mike: look on the flat part of the receiver-
    Pre-1902 guns will have 3 Pat'd dates:
    1. March 20- 83 (Alexander Brown Breech-loading Mechanism) 2. July 13- 86 (Lock mechanism) 3. Oct. 5- 86 (Lock safety catch) 4. Serial number 5. Grade stamp

    The barrels are damascus and you can find some more information by clicking 'Photo Trail' on the Home Page then 'Damascus Barrels' Please let us know what grade you have as I'd like pics of the brls if it's a higher grade hammer gun.
