I just found this forum by researching the shotgun I bought today. I'd like to date it!
It's a Hunter hammer double with some kind of composite or Damascus barrel group. It has L C Smith on both sides of the frame. The only number I found that looks like a serial number is on the detatchable foregrip piece. Would this be actual practice, to put an important number on a small removeable part?
Where oh where do I start? I looked at the Website, and got good hints. Any ideas for me?
It is a lovely gun! Really tight. Is it only good for black powder? Where do I begin to learn about this field? I've never bought an antique firearm before. Lots of other antiques, though. Couldn't pass it up!
