Thanks for all the advise and support so far. The Wood book and N.R.A. Instructions were a huge help. The CW mainspring vise makes taking the locks apart a breeze. The P.C. Wood hardener reconditions the mortise wood just great. But now getting the old worn and chipped case hardening off the locks and action is slow going using 320 grit wet sanding. Any suggestions? When it is off, I want to "French Grey" the locks and receiver. Tried the dirty diesel oil recipe on some mild steel and it actually seems to work. Regards Gigg
