    Neil: I'd suggest one of the leather slip-on, lace-up, or velcro flap tightened pads. They don't look great and will change the balance of the gun a bit, but you won't have to mess with the original stock and buttplate. Be sure and remove the pad between use as, especially with the rubber slip-ons, the finish can be damaged by moisture underneath. Galco makes a very nice one and Galazan sells a 'Gamekeeper Slip-On Recoil Pad' item # E0491 (size M) www.connecticutshotgun.com
