    I had the same problem with both my firing pins. It would fire about half the time I pulled the triggers. I'm not very mechanically inclined, but I just made sure it was cocked before I took off the sideplates. The pins slide out toward the butt. You need to push the trigger on the same side as the plate you're working on forward when you replace it.There was a lot of dried grease in the holes the firing pins move in. I removed it and regreased and it cleared up the problem. Mine didn't have any springs on the pins, but I don't know if it should have.
