On my 1921 Ideal with the Beavertail fore end the release latch is the automatic banjo type. The engraving pattern is different than yours, mine has less lines to the inch but of a more elongated star type pattern for whatever all this means is that some are different than others. What year was your Ideal - maybe that will give someone a clue. Good hunting! Jim
