For many years now I've been thinking about buying a vintage double barrel shogun. I have come to realize that I'm set on a Fox or L.C. Smith Field Grade. Most likely the L.C. Smith Field Grade. I sill know very little about these shotguns. Anyways I found a L.C. Smith Field Grade for sale. I'm not sure what to look for. I opened it and looked down the barrel. Looks clean but I'm not sure what pitting would look like. The stock near the trigger finger at the adge is missing some wood. It looks like it also might have a hairline crack. Looks like the wood and finish are original as they both show much wear. Any ways what is a fair price. I'm just interested in a shooter. Some thing that has seen some use but still servicable.
