Your answer to the question made me pause and think back to the very first post I ever made on this forum regarding starting a L. C. Smith collection back in May of 2017.
From what I have learned, so far, is that the reason we all purchase, collect, and acquire our prized double gun possessions is as varied and unique as we are as individuals.
No one singular reason seems to be any better than the other in my opinion.
We have folks that collect only the highest graded guns they can afford; others who specialize in the unique or one-off guns. Others collect based on investment and what will be the return. Some folks never put a round downrange in their Smith, but clean and polish them religiously as artwork. Others seem to enjoy the hunt for that hidden treasure at an auction or internet gun store. There are many more reasons I could name and I think I have experienced most all of them briefly since 2017.
So in short, thanks for helping me remember why I enjoy this double gun disease! This journey is much more enjoyable with the continuing contributions of opinions, facts, passion, and technical knowledge of our members!!
