Mike that is my opinion, back in the 70's 26" barreled guns were the thing when there were quail and woodcock around. They were perfect for skeet shooting and since then they have fell out of favor especially since sporting clays started. Of the double barrel and o/u that I have bought in the 70's were all 26" barrels either in 28 gauge or 20 gauge. I never shot a 12 gauge back then, only owned one that i got when I was 14, a J.C. Higgins pump with an adjustable choke (still have it). Back to the Crown Grade 20 gauge, if that gun had 30" or 32" barrels there would be a fight over it. Not to say it is not a nice gun but to me impractical for todays shooting.
