Tim, your hammer gun was made in 1899 and would be what I call a 6 pin lock (they look like pins but one is an axle for the sear the others are screw ends polished and rounded.) It would have the Type II hammers. Finding a hammer could be difficult and sometimes you can find the whole lock on eBay. A lot of these older hammers were serial numbered to the gun.
