The bottom barrel is very interesting, and the pattern is found on a few pre-1900 No. 0 & No. 1 guns. The "rough forged tubes" were paired, wired together, and shipped in a barrel of 50 or so. In the rough, the pattern is very difficult to decipher and it may have been that Hunter Arms either got a deal on the tubes, or they slipped into the shipment somehow.
