16 gauge Smith hammer guns

Ran across an old hammergun while out shopping for shells the other day. When I picked it up from the rack, it's weight made me realize that it was a 16 gauge. In tough shape (dirty, w/corroded damascus tubes) but seemingly complete (with no obvious external damage). A pre-1899 gun from all appearances (w/the high, bar-action hamers, but a flat action bottom). How unusual is this gun?
