Not sure which picture you're referring to. The 16-gauge gun in the Springs is likely to be a "Type II Hammer" equipped unit (from 1897 to 1899 per your notes). They want almost no money for it (because it looks so disreputable!). I'll go down there tomorrow and give it a thorough going-over. If there is any hope of salvaging it (those tubes looked pretty rough on my 1st pass) I may drag it home.
I do have a "secret weapon" when it comes to these types of projects. I just hope I haven't "burned-him out" on Smith guns yet.
