Re: 16ga hammer gun - hammer screw sheared off
As you have previously stated, the hammers are very securely attached to the side plate and do not slide off easily. The left hammer and both hammers in my other 16 gauge have absolutely zero play. Now that this hammer has come off, there is a modest amount of play. I thought of cutting a small piece of shim from a feeler gauge to try to shore it up. Do you have any thoughts on this or another method?
I am also now wondering if the play in the hammer wasnít already present and that perhaps that is why the screw broke or at least a contributing factor. I suppose I should take the hammer back off and see if it matches to the gun. I donít recall checking the hammer for a number but I would assume there is one given the history of the company to number every little thing.
