New member here with a few questions. I just turned 74 and figured its about time to get ready to bequeath my L C Smith 20ga. Field grade Double to my grandkids. The gun was given to me by my Grandfather in the mid 1950's. I used it on dove, quail, ducks and the occasional squirrel until 1963 when my arms outgrew its shortened stock. I have sent the Research Letter form and await the response. I have also spent a few hours reading the FAQ sections and educating myself somewhat - but still have a few questions. As stated the gun is a Field grade 20ga. double. The barrel length is 28 9/16th". It has double triggers and a three position safety. The shortened stock is fitted with a H&H recoil pad and the length of pull from back of the pad to center of rear trigger is 12". The serial number is 123054 preceded by F WE markings. Two questions if I may: Which trigger fires which barrel, and can a competent gunsmith be recommended in my area (South Carolina LowCountry) Thanks for your help in advance!!
