About 1945 Marlin Arms bought L C Smith; I never read that they sold Smith so I assume that when Ruger bought Marlin in the recent bankruptcy sale that Ruger became the new owner of L C Smith. It's probably one of the safest places to reside but it's also probable that the Smith brand will continue to exist in name only. They will conclude there is insufficient market for it and I could say more but I'll end it right here.
