These corporate doin's are interesting. As I stated above, Marlin acquired LC Smith in 1945. Before that Remington acquired Parker in 1934 and then acquired Marlin about a decade ago...so at the time of the recent Remington bankruptcy sale Remington owned both Smith and Parker. Ruger purchased Smith via Marlin and another outfit bought Parker so the two are separated again. I wonder if either of the new owners have any intention to resurrect the brands. If so I would question the quality of the new born; that's why I abruptly ended my first post. The sad part of all this is the potential end of Remington; I started shooting with a Browning A5 but quickly converted to a Rem 870 in the late 60's which I still have. I hate to see the end of Remington.
