I don't know? Perhaps? I've never seen it done; and since there's a gold inlayed crown on the opening lever it would seem a bit odd to me to inlay the word "Crown" on the short rib. And if was factory work, one would think the word "Grade" would also be gold inlayed? As for me, if the gun has been restored I'd certainly consider that feature suspect; but if the gun shows no sign of restoration and the barrels haven't been re-blacked, then maybe it's original. But since we have no records of the build details for these guns no one will ever know for sure; and remember that anything within reason could be specially ordered from Hunter Arms.
