looking at worn out LC Smith hammer gun. Can damascus barrels be restored?

Wondering if some one can help me. I am looking at a 10 gauge hammer gun that is really rough. The damascus barrels are decribed as frosted bores with some isolated spots of moderate pitting. there are some shallow dents. So can damascus barrels be restored? Does anybody do this? Stock is cracked and would need to be replaced along with forearm. It is definetly a gun that needs restoration but if I can get it cheap and make it a shooter would it be worth it? It is a F model hammer. Whats a ball park cost of restoring a gun like this. Or should I just wait to see if I can buy a 10 gauge hammer that does not need anything done to it. Thanks for any reponse
