10 gauge LC Smith hammer guns can be hard to find as I looked for a long time to find mine. I also am fairly handy and a gun such as you describe would have been of interest to me as I enjoy working on such guns. Much of what you describe can be repaired by a professional at substantial cost, far exceeding the value of the completed gun. If you do not have the skills to work on such a gun it is best to leave them alone. If you are handy and are willing to learn skills necessary to fix a gun in poor shape they can provide much enjoyment.
