Have you listened much to Zappa protege Larry "Wildman Fischer's debut "An Evening With" much over the years.Pure schizophrenic ramblings, but funny and strangely worthwhile.I know George was involved for a while. When was his last meeting? Previous Message
Well, yeah.
The Zapster remember, was a jazz musician first and he became heavily influenced by rock music. So it was a two way street.
His influence on rock was clear in bands like Brian Eno and The B52's and Devo. He was definitely more musically proficient than the legendary artists you mentioned but he was not as accessible. Those people reached a huge audience and were just as creative but in a different lane. I don't like comparing artistry too much. It's so subjective.
FZ is more of a musicians musician than the Beatles, Dylan or The Beach Boys. He's also has more of a male dominated audience.
But, I know what you mean.

Been doing a lot of Frank Zappa on YouTube.Interviews, docs, album listens....What an incredibly creatively gifted soul..technically more inventive than Lennon Dylan or even Psych era Brian Wilson..what's your take on his significance in the evolution of musical expression?Watch a video called "The Freak Out List" about all the Zappa influences listed on the Freak Out album.....
