Pink Floyd's first album is totally different from everything else they ever did. Interstellar Overdrive is a good psych jam. See Emily Play should have been a major hit.
The Byrds first 5 albums are some of the best of the 1960's. I wish they were better known these days. Roger McGuinn plays little tiny gigs to just a few people. I saw him in Memphis 5-6 years ago.
The Grateful Dead's first two albums have a good selection of songs - "The Other One" became a regular 25-30 minute jam at most of their early 70's concerts.
Cream "Wheels of Fire" combined with "Live Cream" and "Live Volume 2" make a great collection of heavy psychedelic jams with an awesome single like 'White Room' and a live version of 'Sunshine' thats better than the original.
