Anyone on here been to a Fiorentina match before?

Thinking of going 13th Sep with the Mrs if it's possible.
Wondering if anyone's been before that can advise on how hard it is to get tickets, how safe it is etc.... it's vs Napoli, so I guess it could be tasty.

Nowt on Get Your Guide, which I've used before..

Also thinking of Croatia too, Split/Zagreb 20th Sep if anyone can advise on that too please?

Been to see Juventus, Bologna, Palermo, Napoli and Atalanta games.

I think i needed to show ID to match the name on the ticket for all of the games. Took my passport with me, which as a member of the UTC was something I could have done without. Juve and Napoli were a bit of a palaver getting in. Having to go through airport style security etc and getting searched multiple times before getting in. In general though, the buying tickets etc was pretty easy and a fair bit cheaper than a UK game. I think I paid something like €14 for a ticket to Napoli/Lazio.

If you go to Croatia, you may be able to take in a game involving my favourite European club-Rijeka.

Im hoping to go to one of their games in the future.

As for Fiorentina, I only did the home leg when we played them, so can't help you.

not much help but went to a locomotiva v Zagreb derby couple of years ago,needed id to get in.
ground was national league standard, only 7€ to get in and €1.5 a pint and you could drink in the stands!sellers came around selling corn on the cob!

for you I'd lose my self-esteem

How did you end up with an obscure European second club mate? I'm a big fan of Lokeren after spending a season watching them home and away about 15 years ago whilst working in Antwerp. Even saw them lift the Belgian Cup. Unfortunately they have ended up going the way of Bury and have gone bust and had to start again from the bottom after a few dodgy owners.

I've seen Everton play Lokeren on a pre season tour of Belgium circa 1982 held in Brugge. McMahon was still playing for us then.

I'm pretty sure we went over without tickets, and went to some ticket shop near the town on the day to just buy them over the counter. In my minds eye* it was just a little cafe with old Gomorrah sorts sat off nearby with leather hoodies and mopeds.

Anyway it rained so much that my mate's ticket ended up turning to mush in his pocket, so we both got in on 2 halves of what was left of my ticket. I remember being bussed away from the ground, but not a clue how we got to the ground.

*almost certainly wasn't like this, but I'd have been majorly hungover/ still drunk at the time.

The club shop / caff / lurkers defo existed, and we would have walked to it from the town centre.

The weather was atrocious and the little hamster cage we had to stand in was a disgrace.

Fast forward a few months later and the shite played there in glorious sunshine and the hamster cage had been removed.

Never been to a fiorentina match but I have been to see Bologna - I just went to the tourist information place and they sold tickets there so could be an option, although the game you’re thinking of seeing is a much bigger one. The Bologna game was great, dead safe and easy to get a pint.

Also been to Split, fantastic place. As below, I’d definitely do an island trip, but my recommendation would be Korcula which was beautiful and dead quiet (at least it was in 2015) - I wasn’t as keen on Hvar as it was a bit of a rip off and full of obnoxious arseholes on yachts. Stunning beach though.

Ive been to Split, ace place worth getting a lonely planet book as theres some boss eateries on the side streets youd otherwise miss, you can see it in a couple of days.Not been to Zagreb mind did Dubvornick but thats like a 4hr drive away youd also see everything there in a couple of days

Nah it was July when we went, we went to the stadium thats like 15/20 minute walk from the city centre even in the daytime it felt proper moody
