Never been to a fiorentina match but I have been to see Bologna - I just went to the tourist information place and they sold tickets there so could be an option, although the game you’re thinking of seeing is a much bigger one. The Bologna game was great, dead safe and easy to get a pint.

Also been to Split, fantastic place. As below, I’d definitely do an island trip, but my recommendation would be Korcula which was beautiful and dead quiet (at least it was in 2015) - I wasn’t as keen on Hvar as it was a bit of a rip off and full of obnoxious arseholes on yachts. Stunning beach though.
