That’s pretty much as I saw it. After 10 minutes I was thinking, I hope we can get to half time at 0-0 then hopefully they can sort themselves out. Sadly, not. Personally, I think having Tim alongside Gana Gueye just doesn’t work. Neither can pass well enough and I think Tim gets caught out of position too often. Armstrong is a much better bet in that position. He is far more disciplined. Beto was poor last night but if our only tactic is to hump the ball up to a lone striker surrounded by opposition players then you put peak Bob Latchford up there and it won’t make any difference. One final point: our speed of passing is so slow. When Grealish came on, his first pass was pinged along the deck in sharp contrast to all the others who pass on the deck and players have to stand and wait for years to receive it.
