Whatever the whistling, warbling noise is that's been delaying me getting to sleep all summer because my brain takes a couple of hours to tune it out. I thought it was a water pipe from my gas boiler then discovered it was something outside when I had to close my window because of torrential rain a couple of weeks ago. So now it's either lay awake in a cool room hoping it'll tune out or try to sleep in a quiet, uncomfortably hot room.
