It's not really the point what he did earn in the past though is it? Its what he wants to earn in the future. He clearly felt he was worth way more than he is, and decided to exercise his free choice to seek that somewhere else (fair enough).

As is now looking like the case, nobody else thinks he's worth what he thinks he is either, so he's got nobody but himself (and his agent) to blame for the predicament he now finds himself in.

Its a harsh game and whilst nobody expects him to pay back the wages he got from a financially struggling Everton whilst he was injured for long periods of time or just fhuckin useless on the pitch.....neither should we be expected to shed any tears for him being potentially unable to pay his mortgage now.

Fuck him, I only hope plenty of other highly paid individuals in the game start feeling the hard end of reality like him in the future.
