My Ma's Uncle Kenny was in the Merchant Navy. He used to tell the story that he walked down the docks at 14 or 15 and got a job on a boat after lying about his age. He travelled the world and used to bring all kinds back for my Ma and his other nephews and nieces, mainly records and clothes but he was the idol of the family until he died a few years ago. I never really got to know him that well but he always had a story to tell.
