The selections have been weird for a while now. They keep putting players in who've had little match practice (Bethall had 3 t20 innings in about 6 weeks before that test, Overton barely plays FC cricket for Surrey), or are really young and inexperienced (Bethall, Bashir, Josh Hull). Dan Lawrence opening was another strange call. It really tough on these lads to throw them in and expect performances, 'mindset' only gets you so far.
