Have to disagree there Pete.
Royle had become our centre forward in those seasons ,and I wouldn't say either of the Davies's would have improved us enough to finish ahead of Man City in 67/8, or Leeds in 68/9.
Both were great sides and worthy title winners that we finished a fair bit behind.
