As for people who don't pay their fairs on Skytrains, I too have seens all type of folks getting tickets. But this has nothing to do with TSA. Fair cops don't randomly pick people out, TSA officers do.

: Way back when, when I used to take Greyhound to Seattle, it was
: far more common for them to investigate seniors than my friend
: with technicolor hair. In some cases the obvious target (like
: my friend) weren't the people trying to pull a fast one.
:
: It's like when I see people getting fined for not having a valid
: Skytrain fare - it's never the 'sketchy' people. I always see
: business men, women with a baby in a stroller, or a couple who
: just spent a fortune on electronics (and would take up a huge
: amount of space on the train with it). These are people who
: would have the money for it but they're the ones who aren't
: paying their fare.
:
: The TSA are waaaaaay overboard with their searches (go figure I
: don't want to fly anywhere) but there may be a method to the
: madness of who gets searched.

: When I was traveling last September I was amazed at how many
: elderly white folks I saw getting "randomly" checked
: by security. It was pretty silly. I heard about it, but to see
: it first hand was something else. I'm not saying that racism is
: the way to go, but old folks who can barely walk and who didn't
: even set off the metal detector? Gimme a break.
