I agree with Deborah that the original is in the name of KEAST, which has been transcribed as PRESCOTT, so not the baptism of your Rachel. |
Rebecca KEAST, daughter of Samuel, marries in 1842.
Rachel was very young when married. Her age at death in 1855 is given as 36 which ties in with a birth year of c 1819. So a minor when married, which should have needed consent of a parent.
Not all Devon registers are online, unfortunately, and her baptism may be in the registers which are only in hard copy as yet.
Plus, in 1851, she probably gave the largest place to where she was born/baptised, as she was far away from there. There is a tendency to do so, as people would have heard of Devonport, but perhaps not of small villages in that locality.
