Think I have worked it out. Looked at 1911 census and Amelia is there with her husband Albert Edward, and Son Charles EDward 4 Son Reg Victor aged 2 and Millicent Cornelia 9 months. all living Devonport. |
So I think Ernest Northcott is another son, born 1911 E Stonehouse after the census.
Amelia place of birth is Eastney (Southsea), they say they have been married for 5 years, married in 1905 Devonport, her name given as Minnie Rowe.
Accidently found Alberts Navy record, he joined up in1890, and lots of ships including 2 I am familiar with H.M.S. HOOD, and H.M.S. bULWARK.
My uncle was on the Hood, left before it sank!! and later was on the Bulwark, when it was an aircraft carrier, (probably a different ship).
Albert had black hair and blue eyes according to the description, and was a Chief pETTY OFFICER when he left. 1915
Before he joined up he was a candlemaker, and I could not read the 1911 job description, they have transcripted it as Macadanizer, so might be a ships name. They lived at 25 Corporation Buildings Morice town, Plymouth.
So I don't think its a mistake, just her 2 big brothers as witnesses.
