Re: The Shapland Family in North Molton in 1690's
Looking at the dates I am now not sure that the marriage of John Shopland and Elizabeth Wollcott at South Molton in 1680 can be the right one. My John and Elizabeth seem to start their family in 1698 and they carry on until 1714 and had 10 children in North Molton. If they married in 1680 that would mean that Elizabeth started having children in her 40's and finished in her mid-50's. Possible but probably unlikely. Any other thoughts out there, or do people think the South Molton marriage is my best bet? Nick
