Thank you Judith,
I have searched for any Knapman Marriage to a Mary Ann or to a Reddicliffe, all with spelling variations, in all locations and from 1820 to 1860, without success.
I consider that they lived in Devonport or Liskeard, all thir lives, as did their parents & offspring.
I haven't found any evidence of any military service.
What a mystery.
