I've looked at the marriage entry - it is Wm. HEXTER. He witnessed many marriages at Dawlish - possibly a Churchwarden. His own marriage to Ann FERRIS is recorded at Dawlish in 1810. He was buried in 1868 aged 84 and the burial register states: "30 years the Parish Clerk up to 1862."
