I notice that there is a reference to Edred Marshall in "Plymouth at Work: People and Industries Through the Years" by Ernie Hoblyn. Apparently the Marshall's timber business was based on breaking up old wooden naval vessels and reselling the timbers. The book states that the breaker's yard was based at Deadman's Bay, by Queen Anne's Battery. Must have been a very profitable business as the wooden navy was replaced with iron hulls.
