Misses Marshall, Parkwood, Tavistock

Have been following an ancestor, Bessie Murrain who married John Worden in 1886. In 1891 and 1901 they were living in Lamerton, he was a labourer. In 1911 a different picture emerges, as they were living with 3 unmarried (Marshall) sisters at Parkwood, Tavistock. The 3 sisters were all in their 50's and all said to be Timber Merchants. John Worden was their groom and Bessie their cook. There were 3 other servants, one a parlourmaid, another a housemaid and the third, amusingly, a "Useful Help" !. In addition there were two couples visiting, Thomas and Mary May and Francis and Annie Butcher. Thomas May was described as "no occupation", so I assume living independently on own means, and Francis Butcher was a "Bank Director". I assume that the sisters were "entertaining" their visitors and, with 5 domestic staff, they must have been ladies of some significance locally. From an interest aspect, I wonder whether there is anything more which I could find out about the sisters, their business as Timber Merchants, and their residence, Parkwood, whatever and where ever that was in the town. Certainly being described in 1911 as having 15 rooms, it must have been a bit more than the usual average dwelling in Tavistock, certainly more so than the 2-roomed apartment in Exeter Street in which Bessie's father, Richard, was living, as an old aged pensioner, with his widowed daughter, a cook, and a young relative, as a "boarder". Thank you, David
