A man from parish A marries a woman from parish B. The marriage takes place in parish C. A few years later, the couple are living in parish D where they have a child.
I believe that if parish officers become concerned that the family may become a burden on the parish rates, they can order (or obtain an order)requiring the husband to return to parish A being his parish of settlement and that such order would mean the husband has to take his wife and child with him.
What happened however if the husband had abandoned his wife and child and no-one knows where he has gone, or alternately the husband dies, would action to remove the wife and child mean they would still have to go to parish A, or would one of the other parishes become the one to which they would have to be removed?
Hoping one of your knowledgable members have any ideas?
