Something to ponder

I grew up in an era prior to the use of AI and using basic rations to develope Show Pigs. I was taught that Genetics was the best tool we had for improvement. Today breeders basically have access to any boar in the breed In addition they now have access to hundreds of complex feeds and additives manufacturers claim can change or cure any structural problem a pig might have and some we never knew we needed. That brings up the question. What percent of change can we now attribute to genetics and what percent is now in how they are fed? Has change become more dependent on one over the other? Your thoughts?
