I am 99.9% sure it is done. They have been switching the feeds on 95.9 and 104.7 on the north side the past few weeks. I think 1300 is no longer needed for their translators. They will shutter it to save $$$ and liquidate any equipment and land associated with it.

1300 simulcast on what is now 1500 WPJX for the better part of the 90s under several formats. Nobody ever expected 1500 to outlive 1300.

Side note, 1030's 107.1 translator was recently given a CP. It should cover most of Lake County if it ever gets on the air

to me, rather sad.
I'm in Upper Peninsula and quite often, heard this vs KGLO from Mason City or WOOD Gr.Rapids.

WTAQ had a lot of unique programming for its local area in it's prime. Train tracks ran in the middle of the tower site. WTAQ stood for Western Towns Along The Q, as in the railroad. Those calls were originally used by the current WTAQ, in Green Bay.

I remember it in the 90s with a Spanish format. La Mexicana. They eventually bought 1500 WKGA to simulcast it, became WTAU.

Radio Disney took over in the summer of '98. Ran until November 2015.

Polnet paid 3.45 Million for it 8 years ago. They wanted to boost their coverage in the city that 1030 couldn't reach, since WNVR is basically a daytimer as far as market coverage. This was before they had a translator.

I'm in Upper Peninsula. Is 1300 silent now, or is it something to happen?

Too, 1500 WAKE has been off over a year. Any news there?

Last I checked and I am in the listening area, it is off the air. The FM translators are no longer broadcasting the AM 1300 main signal either.
