WTAQ had a lot of unique programming for its local area in it's prime. Train tracks ran in the middle of the tower site. WTAQ stood for Western Towns Along The Q, as in the railroad. Those calls were originally used by the current WTAQ, in Green Bay.

I remember it in the 90s with a Spanish format. La Mexicana. They eventually bought 1500 WKGA to simulcast it, became WTAU.

Radio Disney took over in the summer of '98. Ran until November 2015.

Polnet paid 3.45 Million for it 8 years ago. They wanted to boost their coverage in the city that 1030 couldn't reach, since WNVR is basically a daytimer as far as market coverage. This was before they had a translator.
