I'm noticing Chicago FM radio is being abandoned in a number of businesses for SiriusXM, iHeartRadio, Spotify, etc.
Will Christmas music be the only draw to have the Chicago FM band active?
If it were 1995, it was a given FM radio stations from the city were playing in offices, car dealerships, malls, restaurants, etc.
Please don't sling your hash when I tell you I visited a Subway restaurant recently. To my surprise, they had WLIT-FM piped through their speakers. It was amusing to hear an ad for McDonald's. Not to get off track, I think a number of restaurants have their own "music stations" which are tailored for them.
If businesses have abandoned terrestrial radio at their locations, will the alternatives I listed be considered "radio" by the masses?
