WBMX was trendsetting in their format and musical selection. Also being able to garner 10 - 20% White audience. But WBMX overall was not trendsetting in the on air presentation. (There were a LOT Of exceptions like Veronique, Doug Banks etc) Neither was WJPC-AM at the same time in the 80s. But, they provided a lot of the rhythmic hits in Chicago that CHRs from 80 - 87 did not provide.
