The ship in which your father served in the Korean War may be SS CASSIN YOUNG; see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Cassin_Young and https://www.nps.gov/bost/learn/historyculture/usscassinyoung.htm. The ship served in World War II and was then decomissioned, but was later recommissioned for service in Korea. Interestingly, this ship is still in existence, as a museum ship in Boston. There were other US Navy destroyers named USS YOUNG but none of them were still in commission as of the Korean War.
